Welcome to Wichita Christian School

From Mark Hendry, Administrator

Since 1963, Wichita Christian School has been achieving excellence in education. Originally pre-kindergarten through sixth grade, Wichita Christian now offers a quality education through high school grades. A nonprofit and self-supporting school, we are governed by a board of trustees composed of Christian men and women. You will find qualified, certified, caring teachers, each one carefully chosen based on experience, qualifications, and the Christian example he or she conveys to students. All kindergarten and elementary teachers hold college and/or teaching degrees.

We offer Tuesday-Thursday school for one-year to four-year-olds at the Faith Village Church of Christ campus and Monday-Wednesday school for one-year to four-year-olds at the Loop 11 Church of Christ campus. Three- through five-year-olds may attend at our Neta Lane location on Tuesdays and Thursdays; or Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; or five mornings a week. The popular programs provide children the opportunity to enjoy supervised play for socialization, arts and crafts, an introduction to phonics and numbers, and Bible education.

From a uniquely Christian perspective, we offer a solid curriculum for grades kindergarten through secondary. Basic education is reinforced with hands-on learning, individual attention, and team effort. In addition to a strong academic program, including extensive phonics training, we provide special enrichment courses, including music, Latin, art, and computers. Daily physical education classes help our students develop physical fitness and learn teamwork. Athletic team opportunities are available for boys and girls, beginning with fifth grade.

Through daily Bible lessons, our teachers share our Christian perspective. Children also enjoy morning chapel services twice weekly. Parents are always invited to attend. Our students also participate in occasional special evening programs.

Our students enjoy special educational field trips, community service projects, and participation in Camp Fire USA and the Boy Scouts.

Wichita Christian School is a nonprofit organization which admits students of any race, color, or national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in administration or its educational policies, admissions policies, and tuition-reduction programs.
