Consider a Worthy Vision for the Future

Financial experts predict that the largest inheritance in the history of the world, an amount approaching twenty trillion dollars, will pass from one generation to the next in the first quarter of the 21st century. Those same experts also predict that the generation receiving that inheritance will not be as thrifty or generous in its charitable giving as its forbears. Indications are that now is the optimum time for ministries like Wichita Christian School to build endowment funds based on the estate gifts of the wealthiest and most benevolent generation in the history of the world.

Our vision for the future at Wichita Christian School is to assure that for generations yet to come our children have the opportunity for a quality education in a Christian environment. We hope to provide for a percentage of the financial requirement through the Wichita Christian School Foundation. Estate gifts will be placed in the endowment fund which is wisely invested according to safe and prudent financial practices, using only the income to help meet the needs and goals of Wichita Christian School.

Consider Estate Planning Options

Make a will. Everyone should have one, regardless of the size of one's estate. If you do not make one, the state has already made one for you, but it may not honor your priorities.

Set up a trust. Charitable lead, Remainder trusts, and Revocable living trusts are some options. Investigate the option that fits your estate planning need. Substantial income tax and estate tax savings can often be achieved through a properly structured trust. In some cases, one can donate a significant amount to a ministry like Wichita Christian School without lowering the amount the heirs will receive.

Give life insurance. Making a donation to the school through a life insurance policy can provide a tax savings for you now and can provide a significant financial benefit for the school. Making Wichita Christian School a beneficiary of a life insurance policy may also reduce your estate by the amount of that policy, effectively reducing or eliminating estate taxes in some estates.

Give for income. A charitable gift annuity is one way to secure a fixed income for life while enjoying a significant income tax benefit and possible reduction in estate taxes.

Donate real estate or securities. There are often significant tax savings in donating appreciated property or securities to Wichita Christian School. Donating the property during your lifetime or directing the property to Wichita Christian School in your estate has the effect of reducing the size of the estate and may reduce or eliminate estate taxes.
